3. Score Responses

Document Actions
This tool uploads an exam specification file (created in step 1) and a parsed file of student responses (created in step 2), scores all the student responses as indicated by the exam spec, and returns a text file containing students total scores and scores for each question.

When you click the "Submit" button, one of three things should happen.

  1. You might get a web page full of numbers. If this happens, go to your browser's "File" menu, and "Save As...". Save the resulting file as text somewhere you can find it again, with a name that means something to you (like "Exam 1 Scores.txt").
  2. You might get a file download dialog, asking you what to do with a file named "studentResponses.txt". Save it somewhere you can find it again, with a name that means something to you (like "Exam 1 Scores.txt").
  3. A table of data might pop open in an application like Excel. From that application, "Save As..." to somewhere you can find it again, with a name that means something to you (like "Exam 1 Scores.txt"). Feel free to save as an Excel workbook or any other format you like. As far as this web application is concerned, you're done!

This file you have just saved contains your students' scores. It's up to you what to do with it from here.
